The Surface Treatment of Steel Wire

The main processes of steel wire production include raw material selection, removal of oxide sheet, drying, surface treatment, heat treatment, wire drawing and so on.

Coating treatment refers to the application of a layer of metal or alloy on the surface of the steel wire and mainly has the following purposes:

1. The steel wire anticorrosion to improve its service life, such as galvanized, aluminium plating, galvanized aluminium alloy, etc.

2. Make the steel wire have some special properties, such as in the production of tire wire and steel cord wire; in order to ensure that the steel wire and rubber have a good combination ability, both need to be copper-plated.

The production of coated steel wire in the arrangement of the process flow is divided into two categories: one is the first plating after drawing, which means that the plating process is arranged before the drawing of the finished product; the other is to draw before plating, which means that the steel wire is drawn into a finished product before plating.
